Low Mounted Model 5/7

Sun Dec 27, 2009 4:32 pm

I have seen some sirens that are poorly mounted, or too low to the ground, but check out this do it yourself job in Park Rapids, Minnesota.

They could have save a lot of money just by mounting it on top that tall building, no scaffold needed. Heck even on top the roof of the regular building would be better (and cheaper).

Looks to me from the pic that the thing was moved there from somewhere else. Like from an old fire station or other location.
Wonder if the thing is even hooked up?

I was just there, and it's still mounted in the same position. The funny thing is, the town is almost on the other side of the building. If you have a siren in a 90 degree hold with the siren on the other side, that doesn't make sence. Who mounted this one?!

The one you see in the photo above was actually still live and in-use at the time. I want to say they had it down simply for roof repairs to the building it was on.
