Anyone have a clue what these things sound like? What they can sound like? Anything?

The EST3 is a panel. You can hook up any regular notification appliance to it, assuming it either runs on 24v DC or you can get an adapter module (ie SmartSync TrueAlerts). Generally they are installed with EST Genesis horn/strobes, or there is a version of the panel with a voice evac controller installed.

I think the system I'm looking at has the Genesis horn/strobes, it has voice (so I've been told) and it probably does the usual code 3 signal. I'm curious as to what the Genesis alarms sound like now. Thanks for clarifying that EST 3 is a panel.

If it has voice then likely they are EST Genesis Speaker/Strobes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNt69-M7VYc is an EST Genesis horn/strobe and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUzkYGgI5y8 the normal EST3 message is heard in that video.

EDIT: Heard better here, first device seen is an Integrity speaker/strobe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYrBfs2n9_Y&NR=1

They ran a system test/drill last week...no voice, but a code 3 signal. They were definitely EST Genesis horn/strobes, anyway. The evac itself was absolute chaos. Fire doors were put in on the wrong side of the stairs... Thanks for the info!
