Silver Dollar Thunder Bolt

Hey all,
Its been awhile since I have posted!
Me and the family were at Silver Dollar City in Branson MO. this weekend and I spoted a T-bolt peeking out from above the roof of what I belive is the Grand exposition building near the kids area. Best i could tell the blower is on the ground in a maintinance area behind the fence near the building. Out of all the times I have been there over the years I never saw it! I am thinking it might be part of Branson West system as I have seen a few T-Bolts over there. Branson its self has Whelens. Wondered if anyone else had ever seen this

That might be enough reason to go back to StealYour Dollar City. I've never noticed it either. But it would make sense. I think Silver Dollar City is actually a part of Reeds Spring (though the NWS considers it is own municipality in weather warnings!) Regardless, Stone County is loaded with Thunderbolts. They had a county wide system they're dismantling and are handing the T-Bolts over to the local municipalities if they want them.

It sure would make sense for SDC to have its own siren. There's a lot of people to be warned in the event of a weather emergency.

But I remember seeing those Whelens in the mid 90's way before I knew anything about sirens (although I knew what they were).

Sorry for the bump, but I was at silver dollar city today and took a few pictures of the thunderbolt. It is a C series single phase thunderbolt, but being me I failed to realize the model of the siren (1000/1000T) anyways, here are the pictures:

How tall is that thing? It doesn't look very tall.

Probably 25-30 feet in the air. It isn't that tall, but considering that silver dollar city is not all that large, it is fine where it is at. From the looks of google maps, the thing hasn't rotated in a while, so I might try and talk to whoever is in charge of it and see if it still rotates. Regardless we asked the people out back if we could check it out and they were more than happy to show us and the guy said the thing still worked.
