But it is in the city's eastern suburbs...which is just exactly what is in the description of the video.

No need to start an argument, just clarifying in case someone were to get confused.

So that is what the inside of a P-50 looks like. Interesting...

FYI: 30mA is enough to end ya if you're well grounded and wet. Many GFCIs will trip at 5ma, which is enough to jolt you real good.

There are a number (3-5 at least) of P50s in Germantown, TN as well.
Still close enough to a Fed Sig 550AT to drive out on test day: First Friday in May - 7PM!

dredging up one of my EE textbooks, the generally accepted "critical" current is 100-200 mA through the heart. Meaning, an arm-to-arm or arm-to-leg shock. current in that range passing through the heart can send it into ventricular fibrillation which you ain't getting out of without an AED or crash cart. current higher than that level will temporarily stop your heartbeat but it can resume if the shock is removed.

I uploaded that video in 2006, but took the video on December 28, 2002, back when they still tested on Saturdays.
The video is of the Germantown Pkwy & Trinity Pkwy P-50.
The exact one that is being restored.

2002? Wow, I was going through first grade back then. This video and Reedsburg WI's Federal 500 were the first siren videos I found on YouTube.

You know what, I woke up with pain in my back, pain in my knees and a pain in my wrist but I refused to chalk it up to old age... but with this one little comment I feel like I should go and purchase a cane to walk with.

I've alway wondered what a P50 looked like on the inside. Thanks for sharing these pictures.

Bumping the topic because the siren is finished and back in service! Just drove past today and stopped to get some pics. Looks like they decided not to repair the outer portion of the horn that had the hole in it. Still looks great!
