I believe so but not quite sure because these sirens were barely used and hardly ever heard. Not alot of information about them

I think it functions like an allertor... with all the sound being projected out of the top vent while air is sucked into the front part of the projector.

Or sound being projected out of the front of the projector and air being sucked in the top vent. However the allertor functions, I'm sure this siren is the same.

I believe the front "cone" operates like a normal siren, air intake in the center and sound projected through the outer part of the cone. The rear part is a separate rotor/stator, with the sound being projected out the top piece, and the intake being that small rectangular-looking thing slanting downward.

The Allertor sucks air in from the front bell and blasts it out that snorkel. The CLM siren has two rotors; one at the front and one at the back. The front rotor has an intake inside that large projector, in a similar way to a Penetrator or a 500AT, though the shape is different. The back rotor works a little like that of an Allertor... you can even see it has its own intake at the back. Of course, the front projector and back snorkel have nothing to do with each-other, as there is a motor in between them.

appears to me to be a dual drive, you can see the intake on bottom of the back...thing while the lager one what it is.

could this be a precursor to the Allertor & the MDs?

Nice pics :D

I do know there was a cold-war radio PSA (public service announcemnt) that had the audio of a CLM in the background. It was dual tone.
