Technically, they're all 130s.

When I talked to Jim Biersach (who invented the Hurricane 130 back in 1968, the "MKII" in 1972-3) about the Hurricane a while ago, he never called it the Hurricane MKII. He called it the Hurricane 130 with the redesigned horn, instead. All that was changed was the horn, rotator casing, and blower layout.

Whoa, you talked to Jim Biersach? And I thought I'd had a special opportunity by knowing Bruce Howze (of Community Professional Loudspeakers, Inc., designer of the Whelen sirens and drivers). What was he like? And how old is he?
Say NO to excessive siren testing - overtesting desensitizes the public.
Say NO to voice siren systems - multiple origins = unintelligible audio.

Jim Biersach and I have been good friends for some time now. He's a nice guy. He turned 70 years old last Thursday.
