The PRP VFD #1 TBolt has the longest wind-down I've heard so far on any Tbolt in our system. The time delay on that one is set to 2.5 seconds instead of 1.5. It used to be set on 1.5 like most of the others, but they apparently changed it when they swapped out the chopper transformer/controler back in the Spring of 2009 before they replaced the head. I knew that that one seemed to have a longer wind-down than the others, but I wasn't sure whether the cause was the time delay until I recorded it this past test.

About the unknown electronic siren in Lexington's system, could it be one of these?

If that one would have functioned, it would have sounded just like a Mod.
Here's a video of that DSA working: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ei2_4QAZLQ

Hey Tyler. I see in your signature that you plan on recording one of Frankfort's 1000T's. I'd like to go up there with you if that is possible. Also, if the 1003 is the one in Crescent Hill, I may be interested in recording that one as well, that is, if Louisville participates in the statewide drill on March 1, and if I get a chance to finally record the sick 1000T in JTown during the drill. . They should also test the Whelen that's right beside the 1003 on March 8.

Well, I cant pick you up since I am coming from Lexington, but if you can meet me there, lets plan it! I plan on recording the one at the park.

I havent decided the next siren I will be recording in Louisville, but the Crescent Hill 1003 sure is up there. It just depends on if I have time to get to it by noon.

I have some bad news. It looks like you will be stuck in Lexington for March's test, since the NWS decided to schedule our statewide drill on the same day as our monthly test. I talked to an EM official today, and he said that our sirens will likely sound at 10:07 AM instead of the usual 12:00. Since there will only be one test this month, I have plans to be in JTown that day to get the sick 1000T recorded, but I'm thinking about getting a ride to Rubbertown afterwords, since they test their sirens separately, and they'll test at noon as usual. I'd like to get a decent recording of Rubbertown's sirens, particularly the Rohm and Haas Whelens, without the city's sirens also sounding, and this would be a rare opportunity to get just that.

Frankfort's test, which I see that you plan on recording on March 7, may be canceled since their sirens will be sounded again on the following day, so if I were you, I would call the Franklin County EM, and ask them whether they'll test on both Monday and Tuesday.
