Underpowered 2t22?

Mon Jun 23, 2008 6:47 pm

Well I went and recorded one of our 2T22s, but it sounds like it is either underpowered or it has one of those intake tubes blocked.

You can hear faintly a 2001DC mixing in at parts.

Sounds like an Intake tube is blocked, but my question is, what could it be blocked by?
There is a thunderbolt siren in my head, it is always going off...

The higher-tone rotor is blocked. Maybe one of the solenoids got rusted and jammed up. Nice sound, though.

It is a 2T22, so perhaps birds have built a birds nest? It has been there for years so there is no telling...

You should notify your EMA about that, since it's reducing the sirens output.

Maybe the city purposely did that to reduce noise production. There is a 2T22 next to a middle school here in Bartlesville that sounds like that. Maybe our city blocked an intake tube since the siren is next to a school.

That would be a very stupid move by your City if that were the case, but most likely something got in there. I've seen it happen on a few Xt22s.

As long as it makes noise...they don't care.

That's actually very possible. Derek tested a 3T22 that seemed to have a blocked intake tube, but as it turned out, the city had permanently wired one of the dampers shut.
